В результате штурма городского и областного управлений милиции в Донецке погиб один правоохранитель, пятеро ранены, двое из них — тяжело.

Командующий армией ДНР Игорь Стрелков прокомментировал происходящие события:

«Несколько десятков ополченцев окружили здания горуправления милиции и ГУ МВД Донецкой области. Здания находятся неподалеку друг от друга. Сотрудников горуправления удалось частично эвакуировать. В результате штурма есть раненые. Относительно ситуации в ГУ МВД — информации нет. Там продолжается стрельба», — сообщают работники горуправления МВД Донецка. Связаь с сотрудниками ГУ МВД Донецкой области отсутствует.

«Среди ополченцев, которые с оружием в руках штурмуют ГУ МВД Донецкой области, скорее всего есть бывшие сотрудники спецподразделения „Беркут“, которые перешли на сторону так называемой ДНР. Они тщательно прячут свои лица под балаклавами, однако местные правоохранители отметили, что узнали нескольких из них по внешнему виду и голосу. Также некоторые из них одеты в элементы униформы „Беркута“. Эта униформа осталась у тех „беркутовцев“, которые не прошли аттестацию и тех, кто добровольно перешел на сторону ДНР».
